New England-based oboist Nancy Dimock is the principal oboist of the Boston Ballet Orchestra, the Boston Lyric Opera, the Springfield and Vermont Symphonies, and the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, and is the second oboist and English horn player with the Glimmerglass Festival Orchestra. She has been featured as a soloist with the Albany Symphony, the Vermont Symphony, the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, and the Indian Hill Symphony, and has performed the Bach Concerto for Violin and Oboe on tour with renowned violinist Jaime Laredo. An active chamber musician, she is an artist-member of the Chameleon Arts Ensemble and has collaborated with such artists as the Jacques Thibaud Trio and the Lydian String Quartet, and is a regular performer at the Carolina Chamber Music Festival. During her tenure as principal oboist of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, she performed on the Grammy nominated recording Rosemary Clooney: The Final Concert. Ms. Dimock has also appeared on the Prairie Home Companion radio show, NPR’s Performance Today, and PBS’s Great Performances, and has recorded for Concord, Albany, and Chandos records, and BMOP/Sound. She is on the faculty of Tufts University and the Rivers Conservatory, and teaches a course at Boston Conservatory on Orchestral Excerpts and Audition Preparation.
