Stefania Giusti

Stefania Giusti, Principal Oboe of the Teatro Massimo “Vincenzo Bellini” in Catania, was born in Florence where in 1985 she graduated in Oboe with full marks at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory under the guide of M. Gaetano Patroniti. In the same year she was a finalist in the selections for the European Community Youth Orchestra.
Subsequently she specialized with Gordon Hunt, Luca Vignali and at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena with Hans-Jörg Schellenberger. She won several prizes in national and international competitions including the Special Prize at the 11th edition of the “Caltanissetta International Competition” with the “Bellinian Wind Quintet”.
She has recorded for “Rodolphe Production” and made recordings for RAI. As a soloist she has collaborated with various orchestras, including the Camerata Polifonica Siciliana, I Nuovi Cameristi Italians, the Orpheus Ensemble, Stesichoros Chamber Orchestra, giving concerts for important Associations and Festivals such as Amici della Musica of Ferrara and Cortona, Accademia Barocca e Banner of Rome, Noto Musica International Festival, at Villa Rufolo for the Concert Society of Ravello, the Bellinian Festival of Catania etc. She has made several tours in Italy and abroad (Lithuania, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey, Russia, Argentina, Japan, Norway), by collecting public and critical acclaim everywhere. As first oboe she collaborated with the Orchestra del Collegium Musicum of Bamberg in Germany, with the Teatro dell’Opera of Rome and with the Orchestra Laurentian Medicea of Florence
