Da Capo: The Music Theory Card Game

Are you looking to develop your music theory? Encouraging a student? Or want to make your child’s learning more fun? Da Capo, the music theory card game is just the thing. Designed by a mother and son with the aim to teach students music theory without them realising it.

Da Capo is an exciting and nerdy new addition to the market, perfectly suited to anyone from professionals to students at the beginning of their music theory journey.

The aim of the game is to get rid of all your cards. Each card is labelled with foreign terms for tempo, different time signatures and note values. These are to be played from ‘slow to fast’, ‘long to short’ or the reverse. The game includes a range of ‘action cards’ that require responses in the game e.g. Da Capo – to start again with a fresh set of eight card, Tacet – to miss a go and Modulation – to pass hand on to the next player.

‘A charming and ingenious game, Da Capo fulfils its promise to be accessible to players regardless of their musical expertise, while also enabling young musicians to boost their knowledge of music theory. Engaging and unpredictable, this is a game that could really motivate a young musician taking on music theory, while also challenging seasoned musicians, and providing aimless fun for the dilettante – or even a player with no knowledge of music at all! Highly recommended.’ Tim Lissimore, Senior Deputy Head, Wilson’s School

A great stocking filler or gift for any progressing musician, Da Capo is set to change the way students engage with music theory.
