Description

The Selmer Paris Privilege clarinets are exceptionally consistent in tuning, and blend easily with other instruments in all settings: symphony, large ensemble, chamber and in the studio.

The notoriously stuffy throat notes (E, F, F#, G) are perfectly balanced and really shine on this model, making the Privilege extremely consistent over the entire range of the instrument.

Ergonomically redesigned keywork including a new shape and angle of the right and left little finger keys, and an improved mechanical response are among some of the developments that facilitate the clarinettist’s easy switch to the Privilege.

Henri Selmer Paris entrusted this project to Phillippe Berrod, Principal Clarinet of the Orchestre de Paris, professor at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris and in-house tester. He was supported by a team of seasoned experts and international musicians, including Jerome Verhaeghe, Solo Clarinet of the Orchestre de l’Opera national de Paris and professor at the Conservatoire du XIIIe.
