In 1987, Buffet Crampon, in collaboration with Jacques Lancelot, Guy Deplus, and Michel Arrignon, introduced a clarinet that would become a global reference: the Festival clarinet. Ideal for professional clarinet players, the Festival is adaptable to a wide range of repertoire.
Made of unstained grenadilla wood, the Festival is characterized by its depth of sound and warm, powerful tone. The Festival belongs to the R13 bore family and has balance and stability across all registers.
Its versatility and adaptability allowed it to quickly conquer new geographical and artistic territories. A more focused bore to enhance projection and resonance was added to Buffet’s R13 family after the success of the RC Prestige and R13 Prestige clarinets. Many amateur and professional clarinettists chose this new instrument for its playability and flexibility, while also capable of playing in wind ensembles, symphony orchestras, chamber music, or solo at home for pleasure.
This model features metal tenon caps which helps to reduce the risk of cracks. The hand-crafted undercut tone holes allow an ease of response throughout the instrument.
Buffet has been producing clarinets since 1825 and are well respected within the industry. Buffet clarinets are commonplace in orchestras and ensembles across the world.
This year, the new Festival clarinet presents an update that benefits from all the technological advancements and innovations of recent years, both acoustically and mechanically. While intonation has been reworked to better meet the current needs of clarinettists, the vibrant core of the instrument has been preserved to always allow the versatility and accessibility that laid the foundation for its success.
The Buffet Festival Bb clarinet is supplied with a lockable traditional style single case, covered in simili-leather with velvet interior and a leather handle. It also includes two barrels, a pull through, cork grease, a sample reed, pencil and silver-plated ligature and cap.

This instrument is covered by a two-year guarantee with Buffet Crampon against all manufacturing or material defects. This guarantee extends to cracks and tenons.
This instrument comes with a 1 Year Warranty from Howarth of London and includes a free ‘Guarantee Checkover’ from our Repair Workshop before the warranty expires.
